Cannabis Consumption Methods

The breadth of different types of cannabis products available in the legal market is impressive. Cannabis can be consumed in numerous ways to satisfy different consumers and their preferences. There are three general categories for cannabis products: inhaling/smoking, oral/eating, and topical/applied-on-skin. They include the following:

Considerations for one’s consumption method should be driven by individual preferences and desired experience. Once you understand the different consumption methods available and effects, then you can choose the right consumption method for you.

Inhaling cannabis delivers effects almost immediately and is also likely to wear off more quickly than other consumption methods. Oral consumption generally has the slowest onset of effects, but longest duration. Topical is a delivery method that involves creams, salves, sprays, or oils applied directly to the skin. Topicals don’t provide any psychoactive effects but provide localized relief for pain, muscle soreness, joint stiffness and inflammation.
